Under the guiding principle “Together for Children” UNICEF works to implement and fight for children's rights all over the world. The United Nations Children's Fund was founded in 1946 and is currently active in over 150 countries. UNICEF supplies every second child with immunizations, builds bridges and provides school supplies for millions of children. It is also active politically to permanently improve the children's living situations , Germany included.
UNICEF has achieved so much in the 60 years that they have been active. More children than ever are going to school and the awareness that children are people in their own right is growing world wide. However even today millions of children live in extreme poverty and are exploited. 8 million still die every year from treatable or preventable diseases. Support the work from UNICEF – Together for the children!
