At the beginning of the year 2000, Radio Regenbogen founded its own non profit organisation, the Kinder unterm Regenbogen gGmbH. Its aim are the boost of general charity projects, direct help in the case of catastrophes, financial support for institutions and for children and their families in the Regenbogen world, affected by special circumstances like death, illness or accidents. Charitable actions of the radio transmitter are an 24-hour-telethon and the charity night A Helping Hand. Furthermore, a part of the ticketing for the Radio Regenbogen Award is donated to the non profit organisation.
