Typecast for Kerim

Typecast for Kerim

For the 1-year-old Kerim, a bone marrow donor is urgently needed. The Stiftung Aktion Knochenmarkspende Bayern (AKB) organises a typecast campaign for him and many other patients. In this typecast campaign, volunteers give blood samples in order to identify their HLA attributes. If the readings of a potential donor accord with those of Kerim, a bone marrow donor can help to make Kerim healthy again. Each first typing is complex and produces laboraroty costs of 50 euros. The AKB is dependent of donations as neither the state nor health insurances fund tissue typings.
