A better future for children in Niger

Niger belongs to the five poorest countries in the world. Since 1991, the SOS Children's Villages are working in Niger, afther the ministry of social affairs provided a property on the brink of the capital city, Niamey, in 1990. In total, SOS in Niger supports more than 10,000 children and their relatives.

Get street children back to society

One of the biggest problems of the present society are children and youths growing up without any social ties: lost children. This is also shown by the high number of street children in Germany. A number of around 9,000 teenagers and young adults are estimated to live rough.

The same opportunities for all students

The main objective of the Kids Foundation is in the establishment of equal opportunities for students from poorer social backgrounds. These chances within education, specifically in vocational training and apprenticeships provide real prospects in the lives of the disadvantaged children and adolescents.

Because babies need our help

6.9 millions of children worldwide die before their 5^th birthday - 40 percent of them do not even reach an age of a month. About 287,000 do not survive the birth of their child each year. With the campaign "Time to share", UNICEF appeals for donations for the surviving of newborns and their mothers.

With education and enlightenment against HIV and AIDS

The HIV/AIDS infection rate in the east of South Africa is almost at 40 per cent and thus the highest in the whole country: AIDS especially affects the working generation. The Kindernothilfe boosts a project offering a new home to more than 2,400 affected grils and boys.

For boys and young men

Since 1994, the association HILFE-FÜR-JUNGS from Berlin supports boys and young men affected or threatened by sexual abuse and exploitation. The main aim is to strenghten the children's rights of boys on a life without sexual violence.

Plan ensures with its project "Water for Ethiopia" the sustainable water supply for children and their families in the region of Amhara. Besides an improvement of the hygiene situation, the organisation fights against deficits in equality of men and women.

Children are our future. Convinced by this statement, Queen Silvia of Sweden founded with 14 co-founders the WORLD CHILDHOOD FOUNDATION in 1999. The aim of the foundation is to improve the life situations of vulnerable, exploited and poor children worldwide.
