Deutsche Nierenstiftung

Deutsche Nierenstiftung - Boost research. Support patients. Inform the public.

On June 23rd in 1997 in Mannheim, Prof. Dr. Fokko van der Woude, Hendrika van der Woude-Griesen and Prof. Dr. Carl-Heinrich Esser signed the statutes of the Deutsche Nierenstiftung (German Kidney Foundation). The ideal was the successful Dutch kidney foundation that the coupe van der Woude experienced for several years. The mainspring for the commitment of the founders was the foundation's mission and the concern in their own family. Dr. Jürgen Schwiezer took the chair. The Deutsche Nierenstiftung only pursues charitable aims. The organisation is acting selflessly and does not follow an economic mission primarily. It is equipped with with foundation's organs comprising the managing board, the foundation council and committees. The scientific committee is responsible for the election of scholars. The social committee discusses the support for affected people who addressed the Deutsche Nierenstiftung for the grant of help. The members of the organs are working voluntarily.
